Marilyn Bixler

Marilyn Cardillo Bixler was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. She was the only child of Anthony and Hilda Cardillo. Marilyn was very close to her Mother, who she lost when she was only 16 years old. In those short 16 years, she was a great influence on Marilyn’s life. Marilyn had a beautiful singing voice and met her husband Chuck through her voice teacher. She attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania studying music, and she and Chuck married a few years after college. They were married for 62 years when Chuck passed away in 2010. They were blessed during that time with five children, Marcia, Kirk, Cheryl, Scott and Clint.

Marilyn was a stay-at-home mom for 17 years. She went back to work after attending Executive Secretarial School. She eventually passed the securities exam and became an Investment Officer at Bank of America. She said working on the trading floor was the “thrill of her career”.

She and Chuck lived in many different states through the years, but Marilyn ultimately moved back to her adopted home of Texas in 2015 to be near family. In addition to her five kids, she had nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren of whom she was very proud. Over the years, she enjoyed serving as Chairman of Christian Women’s Club, being a Stephen Minister, a Welcome Ambassador at Parkview in Frisco, reading, playing bridge and doting on her dogs Cody and Carly. She had just celebrated her 90th birthday on a family trip to Cabo six weeks before her passing. She was truly thriving in Texas and loving life. Her infectious smile and zest for life are missed by all who were blessed to know her.

On Marilyn’s original death certificate, her death was listed as natural. The death certificate was amended on August 31, 2018 to “undetermined after scene investigation.”

On June 28, 2022, the Collin County DA’s office handed down a Capital Murder indictment against Billy Chemirmir for the murder of Marilyn Bixler and three additional victims, bringing to total to 22.
