Texas SB 1283 passed unanimously in the Texas Senate and House and the bill is on its way to Governor Abbott!

SB 1283 requires the following of senior retirement communities:
-
- Conduct criminal background checks on all community employees
- Disclose to residents whether they require outside contractors/businesses to background check their workers
- Notify all residents within two business days about any criminal activity or criminal trespassing
- Must allow law enforcement to interview residents in common areas during criminal investigations
